Dr.
Dumitru has been a Gerontologist and Geriatric specialist
for most of his working life, and obviously has clearly seen many
changes. His unique insight into the workings of the
world's first Geriatrics Institute and Clinic in Romania in 1956 under
the supervision of the famous Professor Ana Aslan, gave us a fascinating
glimpse of the approach of East-European anti-aging medicine. His
close relationship with Ana Aslan for over 25 years allowed us to
examine the drug developed by her, (and considered by many in the
field to be the world's first anti-aging medicine). That product is
of course Gerovital-H3. Dr. Dumitru elaborated on its properties and
clinical trials indicating that its MAO (monoamine oxidase inhibitor)
reversible inhibition properties (thus helping to prevent the breakdown
of vital brain neurotransmitters) and its cortisol lowering effects
have a very wide range of anti-aging implications. These extend to
improving well being, alleviating depression, improving arthritic
conditions, reducing pain, improving skin and hair condition and lowering
stress levels. Dr. Dumitru made it quite clear that he considers Ana
Aslan's results as relevant then as they are today, and he himself
follows her original program. Interestingly, he also produced a long
list of very famous individuals who had received treatment in the
Aslan clinic.
